    SVS (SB17-Ultra R Evolution) ABSOLUTELY A POWERHOUSE!

I just made one of the best investment of my lifetime from the Outlet,

    a pair of "SVS17-Ultra R Evolution"

I knew from the moment I called SVS customer service to ask some technical question if the subwoofers would go well with my exiting speakers I was impressed with the knowledge of the very friendly customer rep that was a big plus for me in making up my mine. The moment I open the boxes a SVS T-Shirts just slide out of each box and right into my two smiling grand kids! I'm proud of becoming a new SVS customer.

The bests subwoofer I've ever heard in my ears all I kept saying was WOW, WOW! Thank You guys at SVS!

The SB‑17 Ultra: Exceptional Engineering, Extraordinary Performance

I recently purchased the SVS SB‑17 Ultra, and I can confidently say it is the most impressive subwoofer I have ever experienced. Although I was initially skeptical about its ability to reach 15 Hz, those doubts disappeared the moment I began testing it. After positioning it near my Infinity R253 reference towers and pairing it with my Marantz Cinema 50, I played several Blu‑rays—and the performance was extraordinary. The bass wasn’t just audible; it was fully tactile. You feel it as much as you hear it.

The unit is substantial, weighing approximately 125 pounds, so handling and placement required care. With the help of a dolly, I was able to move it from my front yard into the living room and carefully position it without issue. Once unboxed, the craftsmanship and build quality were immediately evident.

The SB‑17 Ultra is a premium product, and its performance justifies the investment. The depth, clarity, and physical impact of the bass elevate both movies and music to a completely new level. For fellow audiophiles seeking true low‑frequency performance and exceptional accuracy, this subwoofer will exceed expectations. I am thoroughly impressed and extremely satisfied with this purchase.

    SB-17, clear, quick, but underwhelming.

The best part about the SB-17 is how well it integrates with my main speakers on musical passages. The least impressive is low end on movies in my surround system. Having used a Velodyne 17 inch prior to this, I expected much even more of the same. However my new SVS doesn’t quite take hold of a soundtrack quite like the Velodyne. It’s still good but comparatively a little underwhelming for the tech and the price.

Could not be more pleased with the arrival of our new dual SB17 SVS subs!! (replacing 19 year old PB13's with the STA1200D amp upgrade that were wonderful in their own way) The SB17's brought the sealed musical low end that I expected, and even exceeded my high expectations. These two new SB17 subwoofers represent the 9th and 10th subwoofers purchased over the years from SVS! Customer service and product performance and build quality all exceptional!! From Deep Bass to True Full-Range: The SB17-Ultra R Transformed My 2.1 System

The SB17-Ultra R has proven to be a genuinely transformative addition to my 2.1 system. My setup consists of a Marantz LINK 10n preamplifier, Marantz MA9S2 monoblocks driving Definitive Technology DM80 loudspeakers, with the SB17-Ultra R handling the low frequencies.

What impressed me most is that the SB17-Ultra R is not simply about producing more bass, it is about reproducing the bottom octave with authority, refinement, and control. The extension is extraordinary, yet the presentation remains remarkably tight and articulate. Individual bass notes have texture and pitch definition, with none of the overhang or one-note character that can make a subwoofer sound disconnected from the main speakers.

In a 2.1 configuration, seamless integration is everything, and once properly dialed in, the SB17-Ultra R virtually disappears as a separate source. Instead, the entire system gains greater scale, weight, and effortless dynamics. The DM80s sound more complete, while acoustic recordings have greater body and natural resonance, orchestral music gains a deeper foundation, and cinematic material delivers tremendous impact without becoming overpowering.

What I particularly appreciate is its combination of depth, speed, control, and musical subtlety. It can produce serious low-frequency authority
